About Lexington, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Lexington, Kentucky is located in Fayette County in the heart of the Kentucky Bluegrass region.  One of the first Anglo-Saxons to explore the area was Daniel Boone, who is credited with establishing the forts of Boonesborough and Harrodsburg.  The city was founded in 1775 by a group of frontier explorers led by William McConnell, who named the site in honor of the first battle of the Revolutionary War that was fought in Lexington, Massachusetts.  Today, the city of Lexington is Kentucky’s second-largest city and home to a population of almost 300,000 residents.

Sometimes referred to as the "Athens of the West" and known as the “Horse Capital of the World,” Lexington is a multi-cultural city with a vast array of historical, cultural, sporting, and entertainment venues!  The city is home to the University of Kentucky, the largest and highest-ranked research university in the state that is home to the University of Kentucky Men’s Basketball team that holds the imposing distinction of “winningest team in the history of college basketball.”

A visit to Lexington wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Kentucky Horse Park, which bills itself as the “Epicenter of Equestrian Life, Sports, and Business,” or to the Keeneland Race Course, where visitors can take in a race and tour the grounds.

History buffs will want to visit the Mary Todd Lincoln House, which features information and exhibits relative to the life of the wife of President Abraham Lincoln.  Other area historical sites include the Hunt-Morgan House, Waveland, and Ashland: The Henry Clay Estate.

Kentucky is famous for its Kentucky Bourbon whiskey.  You can visit one of several local distilleries that include the Four Roses and Wild Turkey located in nearby Lawrenceburg, the Woodford Reserve Distillery located in Versailles, and the Buffalo Trace in Frankfort.

Add world-class shopping and dining, scenic tours through the breathtaking Bluegrass countryside, and a tour of Lexington’s historic downtown district, and it is easy to see why Lexington is known as the “Athens of the West!”
